Connect Counselling open following focus on Cloyne Report

Connect will be open this evening and over the weekend to provide telephone-based counselling and support for anyone distressed by today’s media reporting on the Cloyne Report into abuse.

The service provides professional counselling to survivors of abuse at freephone 1800 477 477 from the Republic of Ireland and 00800 477 477 77 from Northern Ireland.

The service is open tonight from 6-10pm and will also open on Saturday and Sunday evenings and can provide support to anyone who finds news about the upcoming Cloyne Report distressing.

Connect received a large volume of calls at the time of the launch of the Ryan and Murphy reports.

Connect was established at the request of survivor groups to provide a phone counselling and support service to people who have suffered abuse.

Connect is funded by the HSE.
