Connect counselling is offering additional opening hours for people impacted by ongoing public focus on establishing a Commission of Investigation into foster care in the South-East.
Connect provides free telephone-based counselling.
Normal opening hours are Wednesday to Sunday 6-10pm. However, Connect will also open tonight from 6-10pm and lines remained open until midnight over the weekend.
Connect provides professional counselling and support to survivors at Freephone 1800 477 477 in the Republic of Ireland and 00800 477 477 77 in Northern Ireland.
Connect Manager Theresa Merrigan said: “There has been a high level of public focus on the Foster Care reports and setting terms of reference for the investigation. These times can awaken great distress and upset for people who have been affected and the Connect service is available to support them.”
Further information at www.connectcounselling.ie. Connect is funded by the HSE.
