Connect greatly saddened by untimely death of Christine Buckley

Connect to open additional hours this evening following death of Christine Buckley

It was with great shock and sadness that the Board and Staff of Connect heard the news of the sudden and untimely death of our esteemed and valuable board member, Christine Buckley.

Christine served on the board of Connect for the last eight years. Her insights as a survivor of institutional abuse were key to the development of Connect’s telephone counselling and support services.

In a statement the Board of Connect said: “Christine’s passion, energy and tireless work on behalf of survivors of Ireland’s sad history of institutional abuse of thousands of children will be remembered by all who encountered her.

“We wish to pass on our condolences to her family and all her friends and colleagues, particularly those in the Aislinn Centre which she co-founded.”

To mark Christine Buckley’s passing, and to provide support to those distressed at this sad news, Connect will open provide additional opening hours this evening from 6-10pm.
