Connect Counselling will extend its opening time on Wednesday, October 14th following broadcast of the RTE One TV documentary Cogadh ar Mhná, covering sexual violence during the Irish Revolution.

Connect’s lines will remain open until 11.30pm to support viewers distressed by the programme contents.

Connect Service Director Marie Percival said: “Programmes such as this can be bring up difficult and painful emotions for people who have been affected by childhood abuse. Connect counsellors will be available and callers can speak with a trained professional who can support and guide them.”
